The west never seems to stop amazing me.  Last year’s trip which included a brief stint in Monument Valley let me see the grand scale of the west and impressed me to the point I wanted to focus this year’s trip in the desert Areas of Utah and Arizona.  I am not disappointed with Canyon De Chelly, it is just wonderful.  Also I like the fact it is not a large visitor intensive park like Arches was last year.  I expect the Grand Canyon will be like that though and it is on my list for this year.  Canyon De Chelly is a national Monument not actually a full fledged National Park.  It is free...

Day 1 & 2 – On the Road Again

Day 1 & 2 – On the Road Again

The hardest part about photographing out west is the long trip to get there.  This blog is actually for the last two days.  I left Cookeville about 3:30 Friday afternoon and got caught in both Labor Day Weekend Traffic then a bottleneck from an accident after getting through Nashville.  I recommend anyone going on a trip to consider the times they will be going through a major city because rush hour traffic is bad for the soul. I ended up stopping to sleep at the Oklahoma Visitors Center about 1 a.m.  I picked up again about 7 a.m.Saturday morning (This Morning) and continued to drive. ...
